This is the most poignant example of true love in my life, my great grandparents. My grandpa recently passed away shortly before he would’ve turned 88. My grandma is still alive, and she started dating my grandpa when she was 13…in 1943. In 1948 they got married, and in 1949 they had the first of two daughters, my grandma. I’ve never seen anything like their relationship. They were two halves of a whole, and for over 60 years they did absolutely everything together. They were best friends. My grandma told me after he passed that my grandpa would make her sit down so he could rub lotion on her feet every night after she showered, that every night he would kiss her, tell her he loved her and that he’d see her in the morning. I think it’s things like that that truly help keep people together…and I just hope and pray I can find somebody whom I love that much
